le fromage est méchant , literal is cheese is malicious. I think a closer translation you world prefer would be :- le fromage est répugnant (repugnant) meaning disgusting or maybe le fromage est rance (rancid). When wanting to translate you have to remember that not all languages allow for a literal translation.
