Soybeans are a global "commodity" market item.

You can find the daily price per bushel or tonne on the site linked below.

On August 26, 2012, soybeans are priced at $18.22 per bushel (60 pounds), or $669.28 per tonne, an increase of $228 per tonne since the beginning of the year.

For retail prices, for instance if you make your own soy milk, check with local retailers.

Price per pound depends on your local retailer, the period, the type of soybeans and the currency.

You can follow the soybeans commodity price on the site linked below.

Divide the price per tonne by 2,204.62 (which is the number of pounds in a tonne) to get a price in dollars per pound, usually between 10 and 40 cents in the recent past.

It's 30 cents per pound on August 26, 2012.

For the past years, the November crop did not impact the price of soybeans, which could have gone lower or higher compared to the previous months before the harvest.

This is because the yield is already known, or rather estimated in advance, and the crop will be stored and processed during the whole upcoming year anyway, but more importantly in the recent years, soybeans are traded as a global commodity market, with all the wild fluctuations it encompasses.

You need to check with your local coop, as it depends on your country, currency, weight of a bag, food grade or animal feed quality or seeds, etc.

What is most likely to cause a farmer to store soybeans for future sale instead of selling them right after harvest?

Farmers who see a glut in the market of soybeans will see a drop in the price of soybeans. If they can store away their crop of soybeans, the price may rise later and bring in a better product.

Is there a converter to convert the price per bushel of soybean meal into the price per ton?

For soybeans, you don't even need a converter, sites like the one below display the price both by the bushel or the tonne (metric ton). But if you need one, you can just multiply the dollar price per bushel by 36.743 to get the price per tonne. Soybean meal is not sold by the bushel, which is an unit of volume for crops only, i.e. soybeans, not processed products which are sold by weight. A bushel of soybeans is standardized at 60 pounds, but there is no such standardization for soybean meal.
