Ew. If you have to ask...
Seriously, your bottle should have a "best used by" date printed on the label. Olive oil should be stored in a cool, dry place, (i.e. room temperature in a dark pantry is ok.) It can last up to 15 months, under ideal conditions.
Corn oil is different. According to The Food Channel, it should be stored in the refrigerator, for up to 6 months.
Now, in order to test whether your oil has gone bad:
1. smell it. If it smells rancid or mouldy or weird, then chuck it in the bin.
2. no smell? taste it. If it tastes bitter or gross, then chuck it in the bin.
Your question just said, "cooking oil" and did not refer to a specific oil. Best to check the label, or ask your grocer when you buy it. Different oils last different amounts of time before they go bad.
An unopened bottle has an indefinite shelf life.
Forget the date, especially if you do not know how they were stored in the grocery store. (Were the nuts refrigerated?) Open the bag and smell the walnuts. If they smell fresh and slightly nutty, they are fine to eat. If you make a sour face after smelling them, throw them out! Rancid oil has a very distinctive smell, and eating rancid nuts can make you sick.
If well stored, then yes for both of them. Though, "good" maybe more for someone who is used to old wines. As for value, you should get around 100 $ for it.
Oil that has changed in consistency or smell over time has been deemed as rancid or oxidized. This oil should be discarded and shouldn't be consumed.
Sadly, yes. If you have an unopened bottle from a great vintage stored under ideal conditions, the bottle can last 40 years. Those are rare circumstances though. The average bottle owned by the average person probably only has a shelf life of 10 years.
Of course
It cannot be stored for more than a week as it is just fermented milk product. So be careful when you consume when stored for long time... :-) Sunny

Any wine whether red or white should not be stored after being opened for more than three days, even in a refridgerator. If you use an inexpensive rubber stopper and pump and pump the air out daily, an opened bottle of wine can last for several days, especially if it is stored in a wine cooler.
As to why, you would have to ask the manufacturer. Lard if stored properly and left unopened has a very long shelf life. It will eventually turn rancid once opened if left long enough.
Packaged cake mixes can turn rancid after the due date, and before the due date if they're not properly stored. They need to be in a cool, dark area.
There are a lot of factors to be considered. If the bottle is stored in the dark and a cool place, it can last for several years. If it is a homebrew or from a local brewery that doesn't filter the beer, the flavors can be greatly affected by the living yeast. There are some types of beer that actually improve with age.
