You mustn't refreeze it. If it's raw meat, you can cook it and then freeze it. If it was already cooked, again, you can't refreeze it. You'll be able to keep it for a couple of days in the refrigerator after it's defrosted, but you'll probably end up having to chuck done away. Check your household insurance, a lot of policies cover this and will pay out.
