∙ 14y agoThere is not a lot you can do to get your hamster on the same sleeping schedule as you. They are a NOCTURNAL animal and forcing them to become diurnal (awake during the day) could cause them serious stress. Perhaps a rat may be a more suitable companion pet as they have much more flexible sleeping patterns than hamsters. They also tend to become much more people focused.

Yes, it is common for hamsters to appear stiff when they are sleeping. This is known as the "sleeping hunch" position, where they may appear still and their bodies may be slightly arched. It is a natural behavior and is not a cause for concern.

That question doesn't even make sense.
A hamster usually goes into torpor when it's cold outside. Some hamster do it though just because they're too lazy to eat and sleep on a regular schedule.
No. One is a Syrian Hamster, the other is a Dwarf Hamster. They are not the same species, they are not even the same genus.
