minced meat is thick strands of beef. I think its used for meat pies.
They're called mince pies, because the fruit in them is processed or 'minced' into small pieces - rather than a puree or whole fruits.
Minced meat is made with meat chopped very fine and boiled and mixed with suet, apples, etc., chopped very fine, to which spices and raisins are added.

Moon Pies are made in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Chattanooga Bakery, where Moon Pies are produced, has been making them since 1917.
People ate baked goose, plum puddings, and cakes in the 1860's. They also ate minced meat pie and apple pies.
