Every Hindu I've ever known, has been an ovo-lacto vegetarian. They ate eggs and dairy products, but not meat.

That means you have met only a small number of hindus. A large majority are non-vegetarians. Beef, of course, is taboo for most hindus.

Some hindus are Vegatarians and so they do not eat meat , Alot of the food is mainly based on curry dishes and most are quite spicy.
