=yes vegetable oil does contain unsaturated fat=
An unsaturated oil will decolorize bromine water.
Corn oil is mostly unsaturated. It contains about 13% saturated fatty acids.
Olive oil is an example of unsaturated fat, specifically monounsaturated fat. Corn oil is also an example of unsaturated fat, but it is a polyunsaturated fat. Unsaturated fats are usually liquid at room temperature and are considered healthier fats compared to saturated fats.
saturated
Saturated fat is usually animal fat such as fatty meat, pork, oily salmons while unsaturated fat is plant fat such as peanuts, sunflower oil,.....
Peanut oil ( or Groundnut oil as it is known in Europe) is transfat free. Source: http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/fats.html
Most all fatty foods will contain some unsaturated fats. Olive oil is particularly high in the mono-unsaturated fats. Most all vegetarian sources of fat are high in mono-unsaturated fats, and poly-unsaturated fats. Saturated fat in plants sources tends to be present in low amounts and/or a type that does not promote atherosclerosis. And exception maybe palm oil. List of various examples includes; olives (and oil), flax seed (meal and oil), canola oil, avocados, and nuts.
Is a fat found in avocados, almonds,Brazil nuts, and olive oil
Unsaturated fat!
An oil is a type of fat. Fats are divided into saturated and unsaturated. Generally, saturated fats come from animals and are solid at room temperature, and unsaturated fats come from plant sources and are liquid at room temperature. Oils are most often examples of unsaturated fats, such as canola oil.
The process of hydrogenation, which is quite simple (it involves letting hydrogen gas bubble through the oil) will cause the unsaturated fat to become saturated. This will make the oil less nutritious but easier to store.
