Lettuces are mostly made up of water, so watering them is VERY important, but they also hold water for a while, so watering them about once or twice a month(if they are looking dry, this is not what it seems, unless they grow little seedy like bits on the ends of a stalk)
You would be surprised how much water lettuces seem to hold even if you don't water them regularly! Oh and also don't overwater, it can ruin the growth process!
