Well, like babies, puppies have small tummys. So the best thing for a six week old puppy would be, three or four meals a day: about 1/2 cup in the morning, 1/4 cup next meal, another 1/4 cup next meal, and a 1/3 cup at night. This is about one and a third cups of food per day. Sometimes though, puppies need more food, so f this seems like it's not enough, and your puppy is looking at his empty bowl, searching for food, then bump up one of his 1/4 cup meals, to a 1/3 cup or 1/2 cup. When they are six months old, they should eat only two meals a day, but with larger portions: 1 1/2 cups in the morning, 1 1/2 cups at night. As they grow more, 2 cups in morning and night. For more information, you should rent a book from a library, or look online.
Hi,
Measure his food and feed him twice a day. But how much your dog eats depends on a number of factors, including age, bone structure, and energy level, as well as the quality of the food you give him.

At that age you can start him on adult dog food.
twice a day
The size portions that a German shepherd puppy eats depend on the size of the puppy and the type of the food being fed. The label on the food will give you a good indication of how much the puppy needs, but in general it needs at least 1 cup of dry food per 10 pounds of body weight.
Before buying a dog or a puppy you should always ask the person who sold you the puppy, what the eat and the instructions to feeding them . Like how much to give them and what sort of food. From HorseLover01
If it`s a puppy look on the back of the puppy food bag,if it`s a full grown dog look on the back of a bag of dog food. You should get your amounts there.

You should consider the size that the puppy will grow into as not all homes or apartments can accommodate large dogs. Temperaments, grooming needs, and common health problems of the breed are also things to think about. Also take into account how much time you'll be able to commit to your puppy and how much exercise the breed needs.
Yes this sort of food is fine for them, and fresh drinking water should ALWAYS be available. There is no amount on how much they should or shouldn't be drinking, let them have as much as they want. If they are drinking excessively get them to a vet they could need worming treatment.
In general, puppies of any breed should receive puppy food, and be fed three times a day, for AT LEAST the first year of life. Check with your Vet about whether they recommend a puppy food for large breeds, to help keep your puppy from gaining too much weight before its bones are ready.
You should feed your new puppy at least 1 cup of puppy kibble small well it depends how big or small your new puppy is. If big get a little bigger food and they will eat way more trust me. Extra credit: after they are done eating their food wait like 2 minutes and then take them outside because thatβs when they digest it. And what suprise they will give you?
It depends on the size and breed of the dog. It should tell you on the back of the packet of food, and you may have to weigh your puppy.
