There is no exact measurement for the amount of water needed. Every situation that the tomato is grown in will require different amount of water. i.e container grown vs. outside in the natural soil.

The key to keeping your tomatoes healthy is to make sure the soil is evenly moist. You don't ever want the soil to be too wet or too dry. After a couple days you will learn the pattern and requirements of your specific plant situation to be able to determine how much water is the perfect amount.

where are these tomatoes being grown? Oregon or Arizona? location and rainfall will have a lot to do with it. usually 1 inch per week will be sufficient,if irrigating.
