I'm experiencing the breeding at the moment,
So far 2 weeks, the goldfish breeded twice,
not sure if they'll continue doing this on the 3rd week.
my 3 goldfish laid eggs once a week, now I'm on the 2nd week,
1st week, 1st batch of eggs were laid, hatched, and became free-swimming baby fish frys;
2nd week, 2nd batch of eggs were laid, still hatching, at the moment,
I'll keep everyone updated on if more breedings on the 3rd , 4th week, and so on.
There is no specific difference between a goldfish in a pond or a goldfish in a tank. Under normal conditions pond fish breed once in spring/summer but they can both be encouraged to beed several times a year by controlling the temperature of their environments and the quality and quantity of food available. It is possible to breed goldfish at least 3 times yearly under controlled conditions.
Female goldfish( doesn't matter on type) can lay up to 10,000 eggs, or so the internet says. Hope I helped!
Goldfish do lay eggs. The eggs will attach to something in the tank or bowl until they hatch.
Comet goldfish usually lay between 500-5,000 eggs. The reason why they lay so many is because goldfish eggs, and fry, have high mortality rates. Having so many eggs ensures that at least some of the goldfish fry will reach adulthood.
