I can't tell you what they will do but I can tell you what types of hamsters will get lonely without company and which need to be on their own. Syrian hamsters are very territorial and independent if you put a Syrian with another hamster they will fight. They won't get lonely and should live on their own. Other types, such as Russians and dwarfs need to live in pairs to keep them company and to keep them entertained. I would think that the symptoms of loneliness would be similar to those of boredom. When hamsters are bored they may push all the sawdust up in one corner of their cage, bite the bars of their cage, or refuse to come out of their house. There are many other signs of boredom in hamsters.
honey bear hamsters are the best, the only way to get them to bite is to make them mad,or hurt them.
