∙ 16y agoA water snail is a underwater feeder meaning it lives off of Algea like 'Plecostomus'. A water snail is best kept with another fish to give it constant algeabut if you keep it alone, you should purchase 'sinking Algea waffers' at any common petstore. Also as many people do not know, Water snails and other bottom feeders need plenty of fibre to digest the algea, thus it is needed o have a piece of wood in th tank to provide a constant source of fibre.

∙ 12y agoOkay.
So you need to put dirt at the bottom if you want to breed.
But you also need to put green leaves, grass, lettuce, apple bits, and half a carrot.
Keep the food fresh.
If it goes rotten throw it out and get fresh stuff.
If a snail tends to eat all it's food fast just put more food in the enclosure.
The enclosure needs to be 1 foot tall and 1 foot wide.
that is how you care for a snail.
This answer is from a real snail owner.
I own 3 snails and I am also breeding them at the moment.

∙ 12y agojust make sure you have some kind of food in the aquarium or algae that's stuck to the glass. as an added bonus make sure their is some fish that will leave some ....... end product because snails eat it! plus snalis produce asexually so you could have one and a week later their will be 5 more little snails. their just clones of the parent snail. also once the snail population gets to large you may put a dwarf puffer fish in to eat some of the snails because you will have alot.
