Let the bread cool before wrapping. If you wrap it in a plastic bag while the loaf is warm, moisture and warmth will be trapped and will ecourage mold growth. If you think you will not use it within a day or two, freeze it.

I get a longer shelf life when I place them in the refrigerator. Seems to slow spoilage.

Bread freezes quite well, and defrosts quickly, so freezing is a good way to keep bread fresh longer than if it is left out at room temperature.
