Wearing rubber gloves, remove as much of the gum as you can. Place cloth in a Ziploc freezer bag and place in freezer for one hour with the gum facing up. use dull knife to scrape the gum you counld not get out with rubber glove from cloth. Follow up with toothbrush to remove remaining residue. You can also pre-treat with a stain-removing solution. Found this on cbs news so i do not own this.By:CBSnews

Put the clothes in the freezer, or outside if it's a very cold winter, until the bubble gum freezes. Then scrape off the bubblegum, it will be easy to do and no longer sticky. Pretreat the remaining stain and wash it as you normally would.

Will nail polish remover remove chewing gum from clothes?

I have never tried it with gum, but nail polish remover works great for a lot of things. You must be careful though, it can bleach whatever you are trying to remove the gum from. There is a cleaning substance called "Goo-gone" that works really well for stuff like this too.

Who first used gum and why?

The myans first used gum. they needed a sticky material that would hold things such as pots or clothes together, so when they found the gum trees, they started using them to stick things together. later though, a glue-ish sort of material made from the sap inside of willow trees and found that that worked better because gum seemed to stick to everything. hope that helpos :)

How do you get chewing gum out of clothes?

One way to remove gum from clothes is by placing the item of clothing in a plastic bag, ensuring the gum doesn't stick to the bag. Seal the bag, and place it in a freezer for a few hours. The gum will freeze, allowing it to easily be removed from the clothes. You can also do the opposite and submerge the clothing in very hot water, before trying to scrape of the gum.
