Might have something to do with Black actress Josephine Baker who was usually called Jo-Jo on stage, as this is a catchy name like Can-Can. Jo Jo was American, and also an officer in either the Foreign Legion or the (French, not German) Africa Corps. She held the rank of lieutenant and was probably an interpretive officer, a desk or ground job, but an important one. There is a photo of her in service blues with two other females- and there is a poster in the background about ( Interpreters of the air-a possible radio-translation assignment)
My guess it has something to do with Josephine ( Jo-Jo) Baker, the actress. She, too was a Frenchwoman by naturalization, but was born in the United States. it"s hot, it is kicky- so Jo Jo.

Yes, cold french fries are regular french fries which have cooled.
Fries are short for "French Fries", so i would think that they came from France... =p It is my understanding that the "French" in french fries refers to the shape and style of the cut of the potato when making them, not with their country of origin.
his favorite food is French Fries.
