Sour cream can spoil. Mold usually shows up when this happens. You can prevent this by storing sour cream upside down in the refridgerator. This moves the air in the container to another part of the sour cream.* : *If you move the air in the container to a different part of the sour cream by turning it upside down while it is stored, all this will do is prevent you from seeing any mold that may be growing. : *If mold is growing, the entire container needs to be thrown away. Just because you cannot see mold spores on one part of it does not mean they are not there.
well one way is you could taste something and it is sour but not supposed to be. If that happens, immediatly throw it out! another way is if you are about to open a specific food (not soda or anything like that) and you look at the experation date and it says something like this: expires: 5/7/06 and the date then is like: 6/15/06 or even worse: 12/26/09 that as well through out when you see it under 6 days from the current time.
It will still taste bad even if it is served with sour cream. it would have to be rotten as sour cream is nasty at its best
If cold sour cream is added to a hot dish too quick, it will curdle. You have to temper the sour cream first by adding some of the hot dish to the sour cream slowly stirring, then add the mixture to the hot dish
Might be a bit of food poisoning. Sour cream? What's the old joke? "How can you tell when sour cream goes bad?" You can't. It may have been past its use-by date. Were you in Mexico? Did you drink any water that you, yourself did not break the seal of the bottle? The problem might be the form of mild dysentery called "Montezuma's Revenge".
In my experience, the milk with the least amount of fat goes bad the fastest. I couldn't tell you why but it is consistently true. Skim milk and lower fat milks seem to go sour quicker than higher fat milks and cream. Terryg214
Green sour
You can tell when milk goes bad when it has a sour smell to it. It will start to curd and become chunky. At this point it is very bad to drink because it will make you sick. Try and read the use by date before you drink milk you are uncertain about.
Easy. You lave it out for a couple of weeks until it goes bad. Then it shall be sour.
Cream cheese will turn green when it is spoiled. It is not like cheddar cheese when it turns green. You can cut off the mold on cheddar and the rest will be fine to eat. Not cream cheese. Once mold has formed, it is best to throw out all the pack.
no it's perfectly fine you should eat it before it goes bad
it takes about 3 weeks or 4 weeks for it to go bad.
It will stink! Sour smelling.
Don't leave the cheese ball out for more than 2 hours.
