Gnomes typically build their homes under trees. They use the help of moles to dig out the foundation. -- Gnomes are spirits of the Earth element, therefore it stands to reason that they would live underground or on the ground.

There are several types of gnomes in folklore, including garden gnomes, forest gnomes, and house gnomes. These gnomes are often described as small, human-like creatures with magical abilities and a connection to nature. Each type of gnome is said to have its own unique characteristics and behaviors.

maybe it depends... my best advice is to make a mini fairy garden using a small to medium potplant and put it inside the house!! You can just decorate it inside the house and it will be safe from your dog!! have fun!! : D That depends if you have mushrooms growing in your garden. Right now you have weed, right? Garden Gnomes favor mushrooms and rerely do they smoke weed. You can feed mushrooms to your dog, as he/she will probably have a hard time hitting the bong. That way you, your dog, and the faeries and gnomes can have an absolutely wonderful gardening experience together.
y do we build houses
Gnomes don't always fish, no they don't. They may look like their fishing but their not really, well not all the time any way. The gnomes all have little tunnels connected to each others houses. Then when their owners go out or aren't looking or even in the cover of night they the gnomes go to their friends houses and have a little raving party. You might be thinking well why can't we hear their totally awesome tunes, well my dear friends that would be because they all play their music in such a high key that only them and dogs can hear it (thats why dogs go bonkers at the gnomes when there just stood there fishing). If you don't agree go on make up a better theory, I dare you! d:
