* If the egg stay at the bottom - it is fresh. * If the egg is at an angle on the bottom - it is still fresh and good to eat. * If the egg stands on its pointed end at the bottom - it is still safe to eat but best used for baking and making hard-cooked eggs. * If the egg float - they're stale and best discarded.
I have a blue Oranda goldfish who laid eggs when it was breeding season. The eggs glued themselves to aquarium decorations (like plants) and stayed glued unless moved so the answer is not whether the eggs float or sink because they stick to whatever thay can. Goldfish eggs in normal pond do float and you can see them.
It depends on the type of fish your talking about because some do float and dont
You can use clean tap water for your goldfish, but not dirty or used water.
Since they are not fed live food, their method of catching is swimming after food that may sink in the water
Yes. I put my goldfish in water strait out of the sink. We have a well so I dont know about city water, but I know that you can put well water strait out of the sink. Hope this helps.
Water.
As long as you use a water conditioner that treats both chlorine and chloramines there is nothing wrong with using sink or tap water in your aquarium.

The fresh water part .... Goldfish apparently come from Asia, however they don't live in the ocean because goldfish are fresh water fish.
