I wouldn't give my parakeet peanut butter. I boil some chicken eggs and cut just a little bit up and put it in her food dish. A nice treat every one or two weeks. Also, if you go to your local pet store, you can find something called millet. That is messy, but my parakeet LOVES it.

Parrots should not eat butter. It has too much fat, plus it has cholesterol which is definitely not good for parrots. Parrots get enough healthy fat from their regular food.

birds DO like peanut butter. a snack birds like is a pine cone with peanut butter on it covered in sunflower\ bird seeds.
