To open the lid of a sealed pot, try running the pot under hot water to create steam, which can help release the seal. You can also use a rubber glove or cloth to grip the lid tightly while twisting to break the seal. Alternatively, gently tap the edge of the lid with a spoon to loosen it.
Bad rubber seal around trunk lid?
Go to a doctor quickly. Waste no time.
Make sure that the lid seal is sealing tightly, if the seal is broken this will cause condensation.
A jar lid is typically considered a screw or lever simple machine. The twisting motion used to tighten or loosen the lid acts similar to a screw, while the leverage from the lid helps to create a tighter seal on the jar.
Sounds like a bad seal to me. Water is getting in and evaporating into the air. It then condenses onto the cool truck lid and that's where you find it when you open the trunk. Lift out the carpet on the truck floor to look for holes. If you don't see any, I'll bet your rubber seal needs replacing.
Open the rear door. On the passenger side about half-way up the opening (outside the rubber door seal) is a little black cup with a lid that says "washer fluid only". I assume you are missing the lid :)
If the lid formed a seal, it should sag from the outside pressure.
cut it
Try tapping the edge of the lid with a spoon to break the seal, then use a rubber grip or kitchen towel to twist it open. If that doesn't work, submerge the lid in hot water for a few minutes to expand the metal before trying to open it.
Try tapping the lid lightly with a rubber mallet or using a silicone-based lubricant to help loosen it. You can also try running hot water over the lid to expand the material slightly. If all else fails, consider using a strap wrench or gripping pad for better leverage when trying to twist the lid open.
it doesnt let anything in it
