In Canada, it is 1 ounce, servers to the public have to measure each drinks alcohol content. In USA, most servers free poor, and you tend to get a little more.
A drink is only as good as its worst ingredient.
2oz. Most mixed drinks only have 2oz of liquor tops. Most states require that no mixed drink has more than 2oz of liquor in them. There's of course wiggle room, but i don't know the specifics. If you ever order a mixed drink and they ask you if you want it big or small (like in a small glass, or in a pint glass) you might as well just get it small, because they don't put any more booze in the big one. If you want more alcohol in the big version, ask them to make it a double. Just for references, I believe a shot is generally an ounce and a half to two ounces.
.60 ounces of absolute alcohol is considered one standard drink. Assuming common values for alcohol by volume percentages, this gives: 12 oz. of beer. 5 oz. of wine. 1.5 oz. of hard liquor.
Between 8 and 12, depending on the size of the drink, the type of liquor used, and the exact recipe.
There is only one type of drinkable alcohol - ethanol. To get drunk it depends on the person. .08 in most states (if not all) is legally drunk. That is an average four drinks at one ounce of pure ethanol per drink. One drink can be: a beer, 8oz of wine, 1 shot of hard proof liquor, or one mixed drink.
On average the body is able to metabolize about 2 ounces of alcohol per hour which is about 1 beer, 1 mixed drink or 1 average glass of wine. There are variables though so to be safe; just do not drink. A really long time.
The alcohol in three glasses of wine (or of beer or liquor) will dissipate from the body in about three hours. Standard drinks of each contain 0.6 oz of alcohol.A standard alcoholic drink is:*A 12-ounce can or bottle of regular beer*A 5-ounce glass of dinner wine*A shot (one and one-half ounces) of 80 proof liquor or spirits such as vodka, tequila, or rum either straight or in a mixed drink.
A Bushwacker is a type of mixed drink. It is made with 4 ounces of coconut cream, 2 ounces of Kahlua, 1 ounce of Bacardi, 1 ounce of dark cacao cream and 4 ounces of milk.
The amount of alcohol in a standard drink varies in different countries, from 6 grams in Austria to 19.75 grams in Japan. (Japan, as a country, is in serious denial about the extent of their drinking problems. Binge drinking is sort of a national sport.)In the United States, a standard drink (unit) of alcohol is any drink that contains about 14 grams of pure alcohol (about 0.6 fluid ounces or 1.2 tablespoons). In the US, a standard drink is calculated as roughly the amount of alcohol that can be metabolized by the human body in one hour. In other words, if you drank one unit per hour you could (at least in theory) continue to drink indefinitely without becoming intoxicated. In fact, metabolic rates vary among individuals and by gender, so this is not even an accurate approximation.
