Generally Ghost Knife Fish are compatible with tamer, more placid species of fish, like Angels and gouramis. They do not get along well with their own species, as they can often be a bit aggressive and are very terrotorial. They do not like any fish that invade their space.
I own one but it's much easier to copy and paste your answer. They like going into small spaces, hamster tubes, etc. They are fun to watch.

Also on some of the older black ghost knifes there is a yellowish line going across the top of the head

Notes: This fish is a very cool and interesting fish in the way it swims. It is a nocturnal fish but will sometimes swim around during the day.
