That is what Ryunkin Goldfish look like. If however, the fishes scales are sticking out like a file or rasp, the fish is suffering from a fatal disease called Dropsy. There is no known reliable cure for Dropsy. There are expensive medications available at pet shops that make the claim to cure Dropsy but in my experience they do not work.
It might be dropsy and this disease is deadly. I hope your fish heals. You should consult a local doctor though.
They are small fish, gold and shiny. Really cute :)
By the time you notice dropsy it's too late. There is little you can do. The signs of dropsy typically include, sitting at the bottom of the tank and/or difficulty swimming. Fish will not eat. But perhaps the most shocking sign of dropsy and easiest to spot, is your fishes belly will be swollen. In most cases it will be swollen to the point that the fishes scales will stick out from it's skin, and it will almost look like a pine cone. Dropsy is rarely ever the primary disease that a fish contracts. It is usually a secondary infection to another disease that the fish gets because it is already stressed from fighting another infection. It can be caused by bacteria, stress, organ failure, and in some cases it can be a symptom of old age which caused the organ failure that is causing the dropsy. By the time you have noticed dropsy it is usually fatal and the fish will not recover.
It depends on what kind of goldfish; normally, you just have to wait to see who lays the eggs to find out the sex of your fish.
Like goldfish
They are called "Goldfish Crackers" and they are cheese-flavored crackers that look like little fish.
Yes. Aslong as the gold fish (coldwater fish) and the pleco (warm water fish) do not go into one extreme or the other on the temperature scale. Your plecostomus will look like it is eating your goldfish if it doesn't get enough food.
The biggest goldfish that are on record are primarily single tailed fish due to the fact that they grow quite long rather than in girth compared to a fancy goldfish such as a fantail.
Shubunkin is just a fancy name given to a specifically coloured Goldfish. Breeding one with a Golden coloured goldfish will result in about 33% that look like a Shubunkin and 33% that look like a Golden coloured goldfish and 33% that look like a mixture of the two. The above results would only be accurate if the breeder fish are properly line bred and their lineage is guaranteed. Otherwise you could get anything from coloured goldfish to uncoloured goldfish and a mixture of any kind of goldfish including Comets, Fantails and Veiltails.
If you mean like a Siamese fighting fish or beta fish they are like.. size of a ordinary goldfish I think and can be many colors but the fins are long and wavy it's a very elegant fish but still has the intend to kill another fish. But these are only the males. The females brownish maybe goldish. Not as flowy on the fins and looks for like a goldfish. ;)
The Panda Oranda is simply another line bred member of the Goldfish family and if you breed one with another variety of goldfish you will get some that look like Panda Orandas, some that look like the other goldfish and some that carry the genes of one but look like the other and vice-versa. You would be reversing the years of work that expert fish breeders have done in developing the Panda Oranda in one fell swoop and at the same time you would be producing cross bred worthless fish.
