I'm almost certain that you mean "goldfish", which are 'orange fish', and somewhat surprisingly, translates to "poisson rouge", in French. "Poisson" means fish (singular form), and "rouge" means red. Go figure :) Too bad you can't ask Dr. Suess...I bet he would know.
