All fish bite, just not all the time. If you're afraid of getting bit don't thrash around in the water--it will only attract more fish. They will think your fingers and toes are bait which is why moving makes it look alive and makes fish more prone to bite. Fish have very bad eyesight so they won't see that its all connected.
