1) Physically cover the keypad with your other hand while entering your PIN.

2) Only use banks' ATMs. It doesn't even have to be your bank, but any protected national bank will suffice. They are monitored and secured.

3) Look for hiding places close by the machine where a pinhole camera could hide (i.e. pamphlet dispensers, DVD racks etc) and shelter the keypad from that angle. Then, position your body on the other side.

4) Pull moderately on the card slot itself. A false card reader will come off quite easily.

5) Look for mirrors around the ATM, they are usually in place to either give a better vantage point from the hidden camera, or are one-way mirrors with cameras behind them. If they come off easily, report it to the owner immediately.
