For ex: if 1 dollar = 0.85 Euros and if you convert 1000 dollars, the bank might give you only 840 euros. They are paying you only 0.84 Euros per dollar whereas the market rate is 0.85 Euros per dollar. This is the fee they charge you for the conversion

It's about $47. The easiest way to do conversions is to type it into to google. For example to convert 35 euros to dollars I simply typed, "35 euros in dollars". Voila, they gave me the answer. You can use this trick to convert to other currencies, say euros to pounds, or pounds to dollars. You can also use this technique to convert units of measurements. For example, "1 in in mm", or "10Km in miles".
