Now, if your sole income is from social security, any disability payments from a retirement account, and certain other forms of income, then you are proverbially 'judgment proof' or 'collection proof' subject to the laws of your state and Federal Laws.
However, if you own real estate or other significant assets, they could come after those.
Monies in a bank can be garnished unless you can prove that the monies are strictly from disability.
If your spouse has assets they can come after those subject to the laws of your state and federal laws.
Example would be that if your spouse is a lotto winner, they can take her money to satisfy the debt. If you two have 2 or more vehicles, they can take one of them and depending on the values the other one too.
