This chapter can be called an epistolary one because it is written in the form of letters exchanged between characters. The narrative unfolds through these letters, allowing readers to gain insights into the characters' thoughts and emotions through their correspondence. This epistolary style helps create a sense of intimacy and immediacy in the storytelling.
anyone who isn't immune to yellow fever or hasn't received a vaccination is susceptible to yellow fever if bitten by a mosquito that has bitten a monkey or person carrying the virus. there was a massive yellow fever epidemic in 1793 in Philadelphia where over 5,000 people died and were thrown into ditches so that it wouldn't be spread around. Then another one in Memphis in 1878 though not limited to those two cities. it is found all over the world and is responsible for 30,000 deaths annually in unvaccinated regions.
Hey so I have a song I am doing for this book... its a project but I chose In The Arms Of An Angle by Sarah Mclaughan. I chose this one because it was a sad song and so was the book and it reminds me of how Mattie is trying to get refuge from the Fever and she is just waiting for it all to be over to change her ways to respect her mother because she lost so much and she is more mature. Hope I helped I'm only in like 8 grade and I have a project like this due tomorrow so yeah don't judge me haha
