The movie of course ,cannot be better than the book. However, there are just a few
differences,
1) Cathy's Ghost appears differently in all the movies( might confuse you)
2) There is not enough detail in the movie about the scenes where Cathy stays with linton for a while and how heathcliff raised hareton.
To be honest, there is no substitute for the book, but if you want to watch the movie i reccommen will help you, watch the Ralph fiennes version. The 2009 version is excellent too, but juliette in the 1992 version is the best Cathy of all time
