The 1st and 2nd lines of the poem means that it is because of the Dragon that there is a ruler of sian, which is true. The 3rd and 4th line suggests that it is inside a stone,not around it,which is why the 5 couldn't find it. The 5th and 6th line says that the Dragon is somewhere directly under the wall with a bright sun on it,but at such an angle that it the sun was real,the sunrays would be on the spot of the dragon,which means that it can't be in the wall,otherwise the rays would not get onto it. The last two lines explain that the Dragon is is on the last brick. But this brick can be thought of as a stone too,and,judging from the 5th and 6th line,we can almost precisely state that the stone must be on the floor. The only stone to be found when the whole surface was searched by the 5 was a large,flat stone. So we can presume that the Dragon was not around the stone,but rather,it was in it,which was why the 5 failed to find it;they didn't look inside the stone.
