Bob Ewell is a violent and angry man. He is angry with Atticus for defending Tom Robinson and for showing the town the truth about him (Bob). He is angry with Helen Robinson for being black and being married to Tom. He harasses Helen Robinson until he is threatened by Link. He also attacks Jem and Scout after the pageant and breaks Jem's arm knocking him unconscious. He is killed when Boo comes to protect the children.
