In Chapter 13 of "The Lightning Thief," the most important moments include Percy's realization that Luke stole the lightning bolt, the encounter with the Nemean Lion in the woods, and the decision to return to Camp Half-Blood to prevent a war among the gods. These moments drive the plot forward and set the course for Percy's quest to retrieve the bolt.
The lightning thief was Ares, and he was not in chapter 12. Percy does have dreams about Hades though implying that he thinks Percy is the lightning thief.
No, Ares does not die in the Lightning Thief.

BECAUSE THE LIGHTNING THIEF IS AWESOME WITH ELECTRIFYING MOMENTS AND SHOCKING MOMENTS AND ITS A STORY THATS INTERESTING plus, Rick Riordan (author) made every single part of the book interesting and it makes yoou want to read more. The movie lightning thief isn't as good as the book, but it's also ok.
