Sam just told Bryce and Ashley that he killed their father. This problem bothers both twins throughout the book, especially Bryce. Meanwhile, 2 girls who go to Bryce and Ashley's school, Cammy and Tracy, are attacked by Danny Ingram. Danny is a bum who sits outside a local diner and sleeps in the park. He has had problems with alcohol. Ashley is suspicioius about Cammy and Tracy's story from the start. When the twins investigate, they find out that Cammy and Tracy were indeed lying. They reveal this information to the police. Sam then tells the twins his whole story, about how there are terrorists after him and how he and Leigh have had to change their whole identity. There is much more to this book, but this is the main stuff. Reading the book will clear up any confussion.
