"The Da Vinci Code" is written in third person omniscient point of view, allowing the reader to have insight into the thoughts and motivations of multiple characters. The story is about a man (Robert Langdon) who is in France when he is supposedly supposed to help solve a crime when he finds out that the cop really thinks Robert killed the man, then it turns out the man that was killed was in a big secret society and was actually one out of the four leaders of that group. Anyways, A man meets a woman they try to solve the murder of the man (grandfather of the female) by solving all these clues left out for them by the man who was murdered. And in the end the girl discovers she is related to Jesus and the Mary magdelen, and in the epilogue Robert ends up finding the last remaining place of Mary Magdelen's tomb. You should really read the book, its a great read and the chapters are less than 12 pages EACH!

There are many different conflicts and adventures to back up each one of those conflicts but the main one is the brotherhood's secret. The Brotherhood, Priory of Sion, which includes Sir Isaac Newton, Botticelli, Victor Hugo, Leonardo da vinci and numerous others passed down a secret for centuries and the most recent was killed before he could pass it down to the next in line. So before he could die he left Robert Langdon clues to help him figure it out before the members and the Teacher of Opus Dei finds the secret.
