The Nurse has been gone for about three hours when she returns in Act 2, Scene 5 of "Romeo and Juliet."
Juliet is impatient because she sent the nurse to meet with Romeo and ask when they can see each other and the nurse hasn't returned despite how long she's been gone.
She has to wait three hours. She sent the nurse at 9, and the nurse returned around 12.
Juliet is devastated by the news of Tybalt's death, as he was her cousin and Romeo's enemy. She grieves for him but is torn by conflicting loyalties to her family and her love for Romeo.
Juliet complains: "Now is the sun upon the highmost hill Of this day's journey, and from nine to twelve Is three long hours; yet she is not come."
The nurse was gone for 3 hours when going to see Romeo about the marriage.
He lingered behind when leaving the party. His friends had gone on ahead, but he was still at the door. Notice that the guests have practically all gone when Juliet asks the nurse who Romeo is. I guess they didn't wait up for him, and he had no desire to catch them up.
The Nurse leaves to meet Romeo at 9 o'clock but only returns at noon as stated in this section of Juliet's speech: "Now is the sun upon the highmost hill Of this day's journey, from nine till twelve Is three long hours, and yet she is not come." Act 2 Scene 5 So 3 hours
Juliet kisses Romeo because she wants to see if there is any poison left on his lips so that she could drink some poison and also die , because there is no point in living now, now that Romeo is gone.
In my opinion, Friar Lawrence is guilty for Romeo and Juliet's death. I think he is guilty because he married Romeo and Juliet. He gave Juliet the potion, and because he didn't get the message to Romeo, I think that he should have met up with Romeo on the outside of Capulet's tomb. Or maybe he could of gone to Mantua and met with Romeo face to face.
The Nurse was prepared to consider Juliet to be married to Romeo when it meant arranging for Juliet to lose her virginity, but when the marriage became inconvenient, suddenly the Nurse decides that it wasn't a real marriage.
I assume you mean the 1936 movie. That was Leslie Howard. You know, the dude who played Ashley in Gone With the Wind.
