I'm not mentioning my name (you can look it up), but I'm the best 12 year old Opera singer of 2009 in New Mexico. No joke. I promise. November 7th, I traveled to Albequerque to attend the state-wide New Mexico singing contest. I have been taking professional lessons since I was 9 years old. There were 13 years olds in my catagory, I got second, but I was the best 12 year old. The judge was Leroy Lehr. I was representing the south-east district. My advice is to practice A LOT. Opera may seem dorky, but opera is like the foundation or ropes of voice itself. If you can learn opera, you can sing pop, rock, broadway, WHATEVER. Vocalize everyday, keep your body healthy, and start out small.
