It depends upon your circumstances, but before I decided to look for a job outside the company, I would see if there is any possibility of a new challenge within the company that you currently work for.
If this is not possible, decide what you would really like to do and see how your qualifications/experiences would compliment a completely new job elsewhere. Perhaps aim for a more senior role or even decide if you would like to change career directions.
I would talk this through with someone that knows you well and that you trust and make sure that you don't do anything drastic until you have something else to move on to.
Everyone reaches a plateau in their job and the best thing to do is try and take some time off from work if possible, Spend some time with your family, play with your dog if you have a pet, play loads computer games which help you reach a false sense of achievement which would compensate for the failures at work and life. Try to have an affair with someone at work.
