'Spinster' would be the female equivalent, however it carries negative connotations - it can be used as an insult because it can imply the woman is unmarriageable, rather than simply made a choice not to do so.

The fairly new term bachelorette is a mostly US term for a female bachelor.

bachelorette (informal) or spinster (a little old-fashioned and has negative connotations)

Today on ABC, Bachelorettes are popular, smart and pretty. Do you think Erica Rose or Vienna Giraldi would make good Bachelorettes, as best friends on the same show?

A spinster : unmarried aged women/lady may or may not be virgin

A virgin: unmarried sexually untouched girl.
