I guess you could say its more like a crush. But its very misleading, and normally has people thinking they are in love when they're really not. How are we supposed to know when a person is in love or not? To be infatuated is to have a foolish and unreasonable passion for someone. So when people think they are in love, its actually more like they're blinded by their own veil.
