the student will just go into grade 9 when he/she enters highschool. this is for Canadian and American students.

If you have already chosen your high-school classes, it does not necessarily mean that you have passed the 8th grade, because you can choose your subjects even before the release of your results.

well kinda! the grading scale is basically the same. teachers might be ALITTLE more strict though. but, just ot get you ready for 8th grade, which is really similar to highschool :)
