妹妹 (mei mei) meaning younger sister
Chinese is a bit more specific when it comes to people in our family. There are two ways to say sister in Chinese. Jie Jie (姊姊) means older sister while, if it is your younger sister it is mei mei (妹妹).
姐姐 [jiě jie] ---> elder sister 妹妹 [mèi mei] ---> younger sister 姐妹 [jiě mèi] ---> a female friend or associate. 修女 [xiū nǚ] ---> a member of a religious order of women.
It depends if it is your older sister or younger sister. If it is your older sister, you would say jie jie (this sounds like jet, with the t cancelled) If it is your younger sister, yould say may may (the first word is pronounced more like an interjection like how you would say WOW! Both words sound like the month May)
