If you need to answer that question then I don't think he/she is the one. You'll know when it happens. It's difficult to explain, but I'll go by my own experiences when I first met my second husband .... I could hardly wait to see him I was so proud to show him off to my family and friends He never let me down We communicated very well We had full trust with each other We took time out individually for our friends and were not fused at the hip We enjoyed many of the same things If he wasn't around I would miss him like crazy and race into his arms the moment I saw him. We had fun and loads of laughter in our relationship and we still do after 33 years of marriage. We poke fun at each other, and when life throws us some heavy curves we make fun of that too, but find a good solution to it together. That's love to me! Just to add something in honor of all of the kooky friends I've had who think they've met "the one" extremely prematurely... If you're not dating because he hasn't asked you out, even though you're very friendly to him - HE'S NOT THE ONE :) Guys who like you ask you out and then treat you well. As far as knowing if your boyfriend or girlfriend is the one, I think the first answer is right on. Your relationship may not be perfect, but there is respect, trust, etc. And most of the people who know you should think highly of that person too (unless they're racist or whatever). And you should know... maybe you could ask a more specific question about the guy or girl you have in mind?

Its very unlikely that the first person you decide to go on dates with is the one .. it normally takes a couple of dates before you get serious with one person. you will know inside your heart when you have found the one. there will be no ifs,ands,or buts about it. when you have found the one, he/she will the the only girl/boy that you think about all the time. if you wont be committed to that one person, then obviously he/she isnt significant to you and he/she is not the one. Also, if you are a christian, you can pray about it. God will give you a sign if you ask for one. Just think and ask yourself,"Is _______ the one?" and your heart will answer. think of it this way.. 'Do i see myself having a future with this person? Can i see me and him/her living together and having a family together? Will my friends/family like this guy/girl? Do i truly love _____?'
