How do adults expectations effect children's behaviour and negatively?

• There are some parents that may live through their children such as the failures that parent made they want their child to do the things that the parent failed to do. Example: If a mother had a chance to be a model and she did not take that chance or she failed at it then she may put pressure on her daughter to enter into the modeling world when that child does not want to do so. As for some fathers they may have been into a sport at school or even became a professional at that sport and they may put pressure on their son to follow in their footsteps when the son may be of a complete opposite personality and prefer things like reading; computers, etc. The parents have complete control over their children in this area and the pressure the parents put on their children is negative. The child is not old enough to know what is happening to them, but may protest when they are older and no longer want to proceed in the direction the parent has led them. Education is one topic of pressure parents put on their children. Example: If they did not attend college or they say no one in the family has even gone to college that parent or parents put pressure on their child to be the first to attend college or they may try to forcefully impress upon that child what career they want their child to study for in college. This puts a great deal of pressure on that child and it leads to resentment as that child grows older and often will divide the child from their parents. While the child is still a minor they may become depressed; disrespectful towards their parents; abuse drugs or alcohol or may even run away from home if the pressure is too great. Adults are wise to realize that they have an individual as are their children and the parent should back their child in the direction of their life they so choose if it is productive and a good direction for that child.
