No! I wish it was that easy. I husband and I have been together for 5 years (married 4). Basically there are 2 ways for him to become "legal". One he can go back to his country and we can file for paper our lawyer said that would take 10 years. Or we can file with him being here and entering the country illegally. The only way he would be granted papers if we could show hardship for him being gone (kids, if I were very sick, morgage in both our names). Oh and cannot forget have to show proof that they were paying taxes since they have been working here.
Don't follow her example. Neila22 is a criminal by harboring illegal and could go to jail for breaking U.S. law, unless she reports any illegals in her house by calling 1-866-347-2423, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Tipline.
Why have state and local government become more active in regulating illegal immigrants during the recent years.
Can illegal immigrants become legal if they stay here for 5 years in have a new bron baby never get in no problems go to school doin nothin bad wat can thay do thay gotta anew bron baby in everykid needs thay mommy in daddy together
If the child was born in the country they would not be illegal. To become legal they would need to take a citizen test.
An illegal alien can become legal by filing documents with the INS. If the person can prove they have been here 17 years and never been in trouble, it could help them receive papers faster.
By proving that they have been in the UK continually for 14 years.-Rajiv
vote democrat and keep your fingers crossed
In the past couple years there has been a lot more news reports about illegal immigrants. So people will usually relate what they "learned" from the news about illegal immigrants and automatically label them.
no
No, plenty of people come to US "legally", and they are "legal" as long as their status is legal. Currently, illegal immigrants who came to the US without inspection - border jumpers, has no way to adjust their status to a legal one. Others who overstayed, etc, could possibly adjust their status under different classes.
No. The problem is illegal immigration. In many cases, illegal immigrants are sent back, but it is different for each case. What is troublesome to some citizens is that legal immigrants can go through years of effort to become citizens, and there are others who have come to the US illegally and who are arguing that they should be allowed citizenship. There aren't many countries around the world where you can expect citizenship just by crossing the border.
The best thing to do is to have him become legal. If you marry him while he is still illegal and the INS finds out he will be deported and he will have a ban from entering the US for 10 years. So have him become legall.
Yup
