As far as I am aware, there are no laws defining an age for babysitting. If you are in a professional care setting, such as a day care, there are licensing regulations for the business you work for. But for informal home care of children, I don't believe the age is set down in law in any state.
There is no legal age to babysit in Georgia. The guideline is thirteen, but it is only strongly recommended. It also depends on the maturity of the child.
There is no set legal age in any state but Maryland (13) but it's up to parents to decide when they feel a babysitter is fit to watch their kids. (I'm mature, and I started doing short babysitting jobs at 11!)
Hope this helps!

A child must be at least 12 years old to stay home alone in Delaware. At this age, they can also babysit other children and siblings.
You must be 14 years old to babysit a child in New Zealand.
i bet its 12. i am 12 and all of my friends babysit or have been babysitting. everybody i offer to babysit thinks i am too young, even close family members and neighbors I've known for years think so. i really need the money!!!! what i should do?
Yes, this is true because Georgia has no legal age requirement on how old someone must be in order to babysit. Therefore, any 12 year old could babysit any aged child. Just be sure that you are a mature and know how to look after infants.
