Heat helps to relax the muscles in your uterus that are contracting to make it hurt. Heat doesn't just relieve menstrual cramps, but just cramps in general. If you don't want a heating pad, then heat a waterbottle or take a hot bath or drink hot cider or tea. And take Advil. Because it thins your blood so it can flow easier :) good luck yo.
