∙ 15y agoFluidity is just another trendy commercial exercise regimen. It's not any more effective than any other comparable form of exercise, but it may give beginners an idea of where to start if you do not have much experience doing exercise. But be aware, much like Chuck Norris probably does a lot more than just work out with the TotalGym and Tony Little more than just the Gazelle, the paid actors and actresses you see advertising it do much more than the Fluidity regimen.
Now to address your question: a mile is not very far to run, particularly if you are looking to lose weight. Aerobic exercise is key to losing weight, push-ups and sit-ups will not help you much in that area. They will add muscle tone and form and are highly recommendable, but they won't burn much fat.
If you are running to lose weight, you should jog at a slow pace (slow enough that you can carry on a mild conversation). This ensures that you are burning fat as opposed to muscle protein which gets burned if you are running fast and the time it takes fat to be liberated for use is not available.
The good news if you cannot run more than a mile is that walking actually burns close to as many calories as running (yes, really) but doesn't have as many cardiovascular benefits. Try running then walking three miles every other day, increasing your running distance by 1/4 mile each week or two until you can run the full three. The weight will start coming off, but losing more than 2 lbs in a week is inadvisable.
You can make your weight loss more efficient by cutting back on food intake. DO NOT SKIP MEALS, just practice portion control and AVOID SNACKING.

Walking a half mile is a great "little boost," but you're not going to lose any weight. Your weight, height, gender, exercise level and caloric intake are huge factors. If you walk a half mile to Dairy Queen...I mean, come on...no weight loss. If you factor in a half a mile a day with proper diet and (additional exercise) you will lose weight....slowly. Good luck.
It take 3500 calories to lose 1 pound. On average running a mile will minus you about 100 calories or so.
alot so lose weight fast
If the calories you burn exceed the calories you take in, you will lose fat. A mile a week is insufficient You'll lose a little, if you could run a mile more often like every day though, you should see some visible results ina week or so.
run a mile every day
Depends on your calorie intake. You have to burn more calories than you consume to lose weight. 1 lb is approximately 3500 calories.
approx 150 a mile with a body weight of 280. 3500 calories in a pound of fat and burning 150 per mile. 23.333 miles to lose a pound.
You maybe would lose a little weight but as soon as you eat again your metabolism would kick in and you would start to gain the weight back and some more after that too . You don't have to starve yourself to lose weight . Exercise & lower your portions and then you will start seeing results. Starving yourself or purging are the worst possible ways to try to lose weight .
Yes, depending on your diet.
Eat fruits and vegetables. Run 1 mile every morning. Sleep 8 hours.
1336 If your intake at 1836 maintains your weight, any increase in activity will cause you to lose weight. It can be as minimal as a one mile walk. Reducing your calorie intake when you are at such a level already is generally not recommended.
